Grade 5:

How many addition signs should be put between digits of the number 987654321 and where should we put them to get a total of 99?



Grade 6:

Ethel made a list of all the whole numbers between 1 to 100. How many times did she write the number 2?



Grade 7:

Three ducks and two ducklings weigh 32 kg. Four ducks and three ducklings weigh 44kg. All ducks weigh the same and all ducklings weigh the same. What is the weight of two ducks and one duckling?



Grade 8:

What is the sum of all the digits in the sequence 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7,...99, 100? NOTE: (Sum of the digits, not the numbers!)



Grade 9:

Alex, Fred and Thomas run at constant rates. In a race of 1,000m, Alex finished 200m ahead of Fred and 400m ahead of Thomas. When Fred finished, how far was he ahead of Thomas? (in m)



Grade 10:

How many minutes is it until 5:00 if forty minutes ago it was four times as many minutes past 2 o'clock?
